Gordon Wood, a personal assistant and chauffeur to Rene Rivkin was accused of killing his model girlfriend Caroline Byrne. He experienced a lengthy legal process, including a coronial inquiry, two trials and an appeals process with acquitted him of the murder charge. He did spend three years in jail as a result of his conviction, before being released.
