Tegan Lane was born to Keli Lane in Western Sydney's Auburn Hospital to Keli Lane on the 12th of September in 1996, and was last seen two days later when she and her mother were discharged early in the afternoon. Two hours later, Keli attended a wedding on the other side of Sydney with her then boyfriend Duncan Gillies. But Tegan wasn't the only pregnancy Keli Lane kept secret. She had two other children in 1995 and 1999 that were legally adopted out. In 1999, she told police in the Sydney suburb of Manly, Tegan's father was a man named Andrew Morris. Investigations were made, but the officer in charge was transferred and the case stalled in 2001. In 2011 she was sentenced for 18 years jail. Following an unsuccessful bid to overturn her conviction in 2013 at the NSW Court of Appeal, Lane took her case to the High Court. In 2014, Australia’s highest court rejected her application for special leave to appeal.
